Wierdabridge Crime Prevention Unit Arrest Local Drug Dealer - 20170107

On 07 January 2017, members of the Wierdabridge SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested a local drug dealer in Rooihuiskraal on corners Old Johannesburg and Uitsig roads.  The suspect were in possession of dagga.

 

 

The suspect has been taken to Wierdabridge Police Station where docket was opened.

 

 

The unit is headed by Sergeant Crewe from Wierdabridge Police Station and work very closely together with Wierdabridge SAPS Sector Managers, the complaint vehicles as well as the local Security Companies and Community Police Forums.

 

They are working very hard to combat crime in the Wierdabridge area and have been extremely successful since inception in October 2016.  Various operations between the SAPS CPU, SAPS Sector Managers, Security Companies and CPF's, as well as individual patrols by the CPU members have led to more than 77 arrests for January 2017 alone.

A community initiative was also started by the SAPS CPU and SAPS Sector Managers in an attempt to serve the community more effectively and efficiently in the fight against crime.
